Exercise is also necessary for assisting weight loss. Food taken in will be stored in the body if it is not converted into energy. The advances in technology, whilst making certain activities a great deal easier, have also helped to reduce our daily exercise.

If one has a computer and is connected to the internet, for instance, shopping expeditions could be a thing of the past. Shopping, banking, booking tickets can all be done on line. So instead of walking around the shopping precincts and climbing the odd flight of stairs, we go to the gym to walk on the treadmill and do a ten minute session on the step machine.

What is the point of all that attention to diet and those exhausting sessions on the rowing machine? Do not despair. Remember that as the body becomes toned you are building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. As you continue with the program, however, the grams will gradually disappear. Your shape will alter and you will certainly feel better.

It all takes a bit of effort but it is well worth it. We live a far healthier life style and most of us enjoy receiving compliments from friends who are quick to notice how to lose fat and hopefully say how great we are looking.
